Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, generating strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Victoria's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly one thousand households in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

At the height on the previous day, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
