It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have come from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was out her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.
